Thesis Review

After giving birth to my daughter, I knew that I wanted to share my knowledge with other would be mothers to help their ideal birth become a reality. Now, what is the best way to reach your target audience? The Internet of course. I needed a website.

I’m going to be honest, I am c.r.a.p with computers. I can type stuff and click on things, but to build your own website you need to use that forbidden four letter word, the “c” word…CODE.

Now, I tried the programming thing, I really did. HTML, CSS, PHP, FTP – I gave them all a good shot, however I am an Aries and not the most patient of people! I gave it a week, I think, and then found another option in THESIS. 

THESIS is a Wordpress theme designed for people like me who want to present a great looking website, but have no experience in (and little desire to learn!) coding. I tell you, it saved my sanity.

Within hours I was able to create the site you see today, and it is easily editable. Do you want to change the layout of your site? Point and click…done. Want to remove a sidebar? Point and click…hey presto. Even I can do that.

Adding links, images, banners – its just a matter of copying and pasting the code.  And the “Thesis open hook” plugin it makes it even easier. You don’t have to go into the theme editor or individual pages, you simply click on the descriptive area you want to place your code in and it appears.

For example, if you want to add an image after your sidebar, go into open hook, scroll down to the “after sidebar” box, paste your image code and save. That’s it. You can’t get much easier than that.

If you really want to make a go of your website, and make it beautiful without tearing your hair out, THESIS might be the theme for you. Plus it has a built in SEO (search engine optimization) package, so your site will be more recognizable to google, yahoo and all the rest of them, thus getting your message out to as many people as possible without you having to lift a finger!

Anyway, as you can tell, I recommend it! Buy it, try it, design it and love it. You’ll be happy with your choice, trust me!
