That cry has returned. The bottom lip comes out as she complains a bit, then takes a deep breath and BANG…SOCK IT TO YA MOMMA. The scream!
I don’t know what’s worse, the vocal scream or the silent scream. I think the silent one, as you know that she is really in pain at that point.
I can only deduce that she is teething now. I’ve checked her temperature (about a thousand times) – normal, I’ve massaged her stomach and burped her, she’s not too hot or too cold or hungry or tired or any of the other baby things. She has been drooling an awful lot over the past week and constantly gags herself as she tries to fit her fist in her mouth. She is now three months old, she has to be teething. Hurrah!
I thought we were in for a night of it last night, however, her body dealt with the discomfort in the best way possible – that most primitive of techniques – and she went to sleep shortly after we got into bed. But I am going to fully prepare myself for the event that this gets worse before it gets better.
So, I am off to research stuff, home remedies and ways to get her (and us) through it. Expect an article on my findings to appear soon in THE NATURAL APPROACH.
